Hey guys I need a good all around camp/hike/survival/bushcraft knife to pair with my Izula 2
I narrowed it down to the Esee 5 or Esee 6 it all comes down to which one chops the best.

Some comparing pictures would be great:D:D

Neither one is a great chopper but the 6 will do it ok for the short length. You would be better served if only used for chopping with a good machete or hatchet.

Junglass if you want a chopper, six if you want a big bushcraft knife and five if you want a sharpened prybar. Personally, I think the Izula two with a Esee 4 and Junglass is a great trio. The 3 could be substituted for a 4 but the 5 & 6 are too much imo. The 5 is a cool knife but not very good for most things.

The 5 is WAAAAAY too edge and blade thick for much use. Sharpened pry bar indeed. I think the 4 is too thick too...I might have mine reground. I love the 1/8th 3.

I'd get a good wood working hatchet, frankly.

The 6, between the 5 & 6.
I take along a light folding saw when I am packing a knife that size.
If I am using a knife to chop it needs to be quite a bit bigger than either of those.

I agree. Been using a knife very much like the 5,6 for the last year. It sucks to cut with and can't chop worth a dang.

Recommend a kukri, small hatchet, or a junglas if you want a big piece of steel that makes you feel alright

I will have the tops machete .230 with me most of the time. I just want to know if for some reason I forget my machete/saw/hatchet one of those will do the job better.

your izula 2, if you always have it with you, can take on more than you think. i've seen that knife put through alot but maybe you want to carry another in addition to the izula, but in a pinch you would be ok.
