Hey guys, ive been on the forum for about 3 months gaining knowledge on my newly acquired knife buying addiction, and this is my first post. I made a bid on a whim on an esee 5 with custom handles not thinking id win but i ended up with it for $86. Seemed kinda cheap for a knife that retails for 150. What do you guys think good knife, good deal? Thanks for the input

Its a big, thick, tank with a fantastic warranty - good score for $86!

For $86? Depending on condition, that's a great price. ESEE has a great lifetime warranty, excellent design and quality products. It's a beast of a knife, designed for cutting your way out of helicopters (literally). It was intended as a do-all tool for SERE applications and as zcd says is a big, thick tank. Enjoy!

What donte custom handles look like? I bought one with the thinner handles of a 6(?) and it seems just right.

I will try to upload a photo when i get to my home comp, condition is lnib from the pictures he said never used it only replaced handles with better ones, which seems wild as ive seen some handles go for as much as what i bought it for. Well i should recieve it soon bought time i upgraded from my lmf II

The seller wouldn't happen to live in Beijing, would they? :o A deal like that seems almost too good to be true.

well here it is, let me know if its legit, seems like it.

Those are aftermarket scales on it. The scales alone are ~$60 at The Knife Connection. They are G10 instead of Micarta and dont have the hole for a fire spinner, but are much more comfortable that the stock Micarta. They fit on the Esee6 as well(same handles).
