Hey guys,

I have a serrated esee 5 that I absolutely love, it is my work knife. With all the time I spend in the field, it has been sharpened by " unconventional" means quite a few times. In the rear I use stones and sharpening steels, but I cannot get the v grind back. I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading that Mr. Rowen doesn't do regrinds, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a company or individual that does good work in this department, with a reasonable turn around. It still cuts, but I would like it tip top for my next vacation to Afghanistan. Thanks guys!

Where are you? If you are interested in fast turn around, proximity is going to be important.

Also you might want to post some photos, so we can get a look at what needs to be done exactly.

Are you looking to return it to a condition like it was when new, or something different?

Well I don't have picks, but I can tell you that the edge has become very rounded, and I just can't seem to bring it back, I have a bench grinder but I know that I would end up messing it up worse than before. By something different do you mean a different grind, like convex? I don't care if it looks pretty, it just has to work. Mike, I checked out those guys website, it says their in DE, but they aren't open today or Monday so I'll have to get with them Tuesday.

Send it to Tom Veff in Oregon. Hes done most of my knives flawlessly. 2 to 3 day turnaround time.

you might also talk to a local butcher and see if they're willing to reprofile your blade on their big Norton stones.

Tom Krein has taken a hiatus from regrind work.

you could check out Brad Southard. he does good work from what i have seen.

As gundude73 mentioned, Krein is not accepting regrinds right now. Brad Southard and Nick Rossi seem to be the two guys to contact.

To be clear....are you wanting the entire blade reground (primary AND secondary bevel), or just the edge (secondary bevel)?
