i just got my esee-5 today. absolutely love it, the thing is a beast.

my only issue is that the factory kydex sheath is really tight, to where i feel it dangerous to draw the knife without just pushing with my thumb. do these break in over time? or should i like run it under hot water?

there is a tightener on the top of the sheath a screw wit ruber washer make sure its slid all the way down that should take care of it. you might have to undo the screw a couple turns to adjust it how you want it.

take care

Kydex is either too tight or too loose.

If too loose the blade will wobble around and be noisy and maybe drop your knife on your foot.

On all of my properly fitted kydex sheaths I have to push with my thumb to get the knife out.

well i have it back to a level of my liking. i already had it at the low point the dave suggested (i should of put that in my first post) i just took it in and out for about and hour and now it is fine. i think it may of just shrunk because of the humidity. i love it.....though it had already bit me( forgot there was no choil.....)

Ditto!

Nutn - Once you get used to the "movement" (grip it with your pinky or forefinger then apply pressure with your thumb) you'll see you don't think twice about it and it's just a reflex. What will get you worried is when you show it to someone and she grabs it full of purpose but you realize a split second too late she might cut herself and...
