My son's best friend is at Hurlbert Field, with Air Force Tactical Air Control Party school. He was visiting today, and I asked him if he had a decent fixed blade. He said he did, and showed me a Gerber LMF II.
I was thinking one of the ESEE 5 models would be a better blade for him to deploy with when he finishes training.
Looking at the various online retailers, I can't find one in stock. My question would be if anyone knows where I can buy one. OD blade, partial serrated blade.

I was stationed at Hurlburt Field. I had some good times there!

The 5 is a great knife!

Thanks so much WolfTrot.

They were in stock, and the order will ship tomorrow. Good price as well, at $139.

Tony, both of the sites you mentioned showed out of stock. Usually I buy from KnifeWorks, but Roger is out of stock also.

No problem, happy to help ;)

The 5 is a great knife, won't disappoint. My regards to your son's friend.

Sorry, I didn't check them. I was just throwing it out there..:)

Glad you found it, and I think it's great that you are supplying our soldiers with a fine tool:thumbup::thumbup:

Those gunships still flying about over there at Hurlburt Fld?

I believe those C130 Spookys are still in the air.

This will make the 8th young laddie that I have helped gear up with an ESEE knife, when they were going into harm's way. My hat is off to your young folks, that do this, so that we at home can be free.

i wanted the lmf until i found the bk2. i wanted the bk2 until i found the esee 5. i'm sticking with the 5. :)

There sure seems to be a lot of 5s selling as of late. Several people having trouble finding the color/edge combo they want, even from our vast list of dealers.

Had the Gerber, got the 5... upgrade, IMHO.

Gerber is an OK knife, but it's just a totally different caliber of tool.

The TAC-Ps are a great group of guys. He will love his job. I would have loved to own my 5 while I was still in the AF. He will greatly appreciate this!!

Thanks for supporting our boys!!!!

Just wanted to give you a big thumbs up for this.

I was looking at the 5 myself, looks like one hell of a knife. Howes Knife Shop had them when I was looking, try there. I've bought alot from Jim, great guy and fast service.

I made my 5 purchase a week and a half ago from tacticaldefender.com I was told they are out of stock and will be almost 3 weeks till he will get in the color and edge I ordered. I will stick it out, I am just confused why the long wait on these to get restocked? Oh well....only 1.5 weeks to go!

SHOT Show. Rowen makes alot of knives and all of them are not for ESEE. All manufacturers want their stuff ready for SHOT, I would say Shon is practicing that age old art of jumping through his butt to get all his customers blades ready to go. Just an assumption.

I sure hope he has his knives sheathed while he is jumping through his butt. That would make for an interesting war wound.

I just picked up an ESEE 5, plain blade, OD Green from LifeView Outdoors in Nashville for $119.95 shipped - no tax. They are really nice people to deal with.

Very happy with the deal and I like the 5 a lot, more than I thought. You can carry a very capable knife without carrying a huge knife.
