Hey guys I'm looking for a good all around camp knife with a blade length between 5.5 to 7 inches and under 1.3lbs for under $130 and I'm looking at the Esee 6/5 or the Boker Vox Rold can't choose their all look great.

Surprised you got no replies yet. I own neither, but have handles both. Both are GREAT knives. D2 will be harder to sharpen in the field (diamonds) unless you are prepared in advance. Me, I LOVE choils. IMHO they add so much more versatility to a large knifes. I fully plan on adding both of these knives to my collection at some point. Good luck, you can't go wrong with either one. Let us know what you choose & do a review on it w/pics please.

I could also suggest a KaBar/BK&T BK-7. They have no choil, but mine does ! :D I used a Dremel tool & went S-L-O-W & sprayed with water often so as not to affect the heat treat.

Just out of curiousity, what did you to the handles on the BK2 and BK7?

I think I'm going to go smaller to a esee 4. Now I have to choose between Micarta and g10 handles.......

I experimented with grip mods to aid in knife retention when used hard chopping or when wet. I am 50 & my grip is not quite what it used to be. I used a wood burning tool & tried a different technique & tip on each one. Results: These babies stick to your hand like glue now. Even with gloves on. Some with girlie skin/hands say they are too aggressive but i have yet to blister my hands on them, in fact, just the opposite. Because they do not slip around, less blisters than smooth scales. YMMV. :D
