Currently we are doing some work to the house, overhauling the flooring, complete remodel of the kitchen and a laundry list of other stuff my wife has come up with. In my house I do all the finances. I don’t like to do the finances, but that is my job. So a week or so ago I am doing the finances and I am in a bad mood because I would rather be doing something else and I notice all kinds of random spending coming through the account. And I decide that I need to reel in the wife a bit.
So I get up on my high horse, march down the stairs and shut down the whole operation. No more extra toys, clothes, etc, etc. I give this big speech about if you want to do these home improvements before your folks come out we need to get on track!!! The wife the whole time is just sitting there agreeing and in my opinion taking it pretty well. I get finished blathering on and she hits me with;
“I guess that means no more knifes and what not for you for a while.”
I have a couple folders that I am on a list for that the wife has known about and the only “dark” project she doesn’t know about is a Busse that I ordered, but that could be 12-14+ weeks out, so I am not going to declare that one as I am pretty sure the wife will crack first.
“Exactly. No more knifes, we all need to get back on track here until we finish the house.”

So Friday I get home and the wife is just clucking around “looks like you got a package”. “ Really?” I am not expecting ANYTHING in the mail. I get into the kitchen and there is this white box on the counter that everyone of you on this forum would identify as nothing less than a new fixed blade.
Apparently I must have drunk ordered a ESEE 6, at some point.
I have never been a huge ESEE fan , I had a few back in the day but never really caught on with me. While I still don’t remember ordering it I do have some memories of researching it and reading a bunch of post about it. The reviews were so over whelming positive that I thought I might need to look into giving them another go, now that I am older and “wiser”.
I hope to god this is the best knife I have ever owned, because brothers and sisters, I guarantee you this will end up being the most expensive knife I own, the wife will make sure of it.
I need to be on my “A” game when I get the tracking number on my Busse, that bad boy needs to be intercepted!!! LOL

sorry brother - but that there is funny!
and don't worry - if you don't like it, put it up on the exchange as a trade item (or go gold and sell it outright) and it'll be gone plenty quick.

I feel as though I could have posted this.... and just don't remember doing it.

Only difference is that I absolutely love ESEE.

We're in the process of building our new home and I have been cracking the whip as well when it comes to unnecessary spending - however I have a few packages that will need to be intercepted as well when the UPS guy shows up over the next few weeks.

Just going behind her back is far easier than trying to explain why I absolutely NEED my 50th knife and what a good 'deal' a $150-$200 knife is. :thumbup:
