I have been looking for an all around camping in the woods/survival knife. I have set a budget of $150. I also need something customizable because I get massive fits of add and will get bored with it very easy. I bought a Benchmade CSK 2 last year, but it really feels too light and a little bit smaller than I had hoped. Does not seem like it would be any good for chopping anything. Going to stick it back on ebay soon. I don't have any good knife shops within hours so I just buy online and hope for the best. I think some of y'all have a lot of experience with these 2 knives and could pass some knowledge on. I also see esee just releases a 6 in a clip point as well. Hummm. Thanks! Oh look..... a butterfly......

I can't speak about the BK2, but I don't know how a 6" knife could get much better than an ESEE 6. It feels great in hand with nice balance. It has a sturdy weight to it without being too heavy. You owe it to yourself to handle one before you make your decision.

The BK2 is fantastic, but it's too short to be a great chopper. It'll chop, no doubt, but no efficiently. I'd look at the BK 9 or the Junglas for a chopper. I own both, it use the 9 more, just because I don't mind beating on it.

Take a look at the Becker/Ritter BK12 from Knifeworks. Customizable with 3 counterweights in the handles. One hell of a 6" camp knife IMO. Take a look

Thanks for the imput. I did find a bk 9 and an esee 4 at the gun and knife show this weekend. The esee 4 is really nice, but on the smaller side. I was hoping to hold a 5 or 6. The bk 9 felt really good and balanced, but the handles feel so cheap to me. I see you can upgrade then though. I am definitely leaning toward this bk 12 from knifeworks to order, although I think I will be getting a esee 5 or 6 in the near future.
