You are told you will go to a random remote location and you can choose one ..... 6....or A2 ..... why?

Carbon steel + micarta handles VS laminated stainless + rubber handles. Budget is also something to consider since the Falkniven is much more expensive.

I don't think with so little info anyone could provide you with an educated answer. I think it is down to personal preferences. I own both an RC4 and F1+S1... I like both makers, however I usually go with the F1/S1. The Kydex sheath on the RC4 is nicer however.

Are you considering buying one of those knives or this was just a wild question so we all could openly discuss about it?

Esee 6 all day long! Either would probably be fine use wise but the Esee is backed by what I consider to be a better company. To each their own though. I'm sure I will catch flack for say this, so let's hear it!

I have a 6 and am thinking of buying an s1 but have Concerns with the process used that the edge it not tough just the body on vg10 lam but I like the look my second option would be a gso as my SS but I feel like if I'm going gso I should get 3v if I'm paying that much unless the 20cv is way better then I am giving it credit for ....so the post was to here opinions on the two to help me distinguish but it may have been more effective to ask gso 5.1 20cv or s1

I've used both, and would choose the ESEE-6. Actually, I would choose the ESEE Laserstrike, as it's more versatile and comes with a much nicer kydex sheath. The '6 comes with a lame injection molded plastic sheath that is adequate, but not ideal.

I don't like the handles on the Fallkniven, and I couldn't tell you why but I'm starting to dislike convex edges for woods knives for some reason.

Being a knife user who leans towards cutting efficiency over all else, I would go with the Fallkniven.

That said, I'd love to have a few ESEE's along too.

+1 for the Fally in my opinion as well... cuts great, is very tough and i find the contoured handle way more comfortable than the chunkier ESEE handles overall.

Let's give the OP the proper opinion he wants and not act like a jackass.

BrandonEDC, all of the knives you mentioned will fit your needs if you were happen to be in a random remote location. Personally, I'd take a GSO 5.1 in 3V

I can't give the guy a proper opinion without understanding his question. First question I got. Second one...not so much.

And I believe calling a fellow member a jackass (even me) might be a violation.

And we also seem to have gone from Fallkniven A2 to S1 somewhere along the way.

I'm confused.

Just get a Becker and be done with it.

CPM 20CV is an extremely good steel, Hinderer used it for a while in his XM series of folders (while it was still Duratech 20CV not using the CPM process). Its basically an American made version of M390 which will outperform VG10 all day long (this coming from a HUGE VG10 fan).

You just have to pick what makes sense. concerns, should i get, second option, esee 6, GSO 5.1, etc...

I'll take a violation but i won't take people with condescending attitude.

Yes. SORRY ! Lol this is what you get at 6 am when I roll over and reply to forum's before I'm even out of bed .... lol

Anyway the main question would be: is vg10 lam or cpn 20cv better for a 5 inch survival, bushcraft tool .... strength and edge wise which one will out perform the other? Again sorry for this morning.
