I have Becker's BK2, BK7, BK9, and Ontario RD7 and RD9, sizes and like both types.

Been looking at the ESEE-6 fixed blade knife and I like the mid-size feature (5-6" blade size). Micarta Handle, lanyard hole at pommel, molded sheath and chip plate, and with 1095 steel. This would be my first ESEE knife. I think they are made in Idaho (a plus in my book).

Anyone own a ESSE-6 fixed knife?

I have an ESEE 6 and I love it! It's a great knife to camp with (cutting, splitting wood, whittling, etc). The sheath is nice and holds the knife securely. You can't go wrong with an ESEE!

Outdoor and camping knife is exactly what I want it for. Batoning:thumbup:

Anyone know where in Idaho ESSE knives are made? Buck Knives are also made in Idaho in their factory.

I am generally too lazy (and impatient) to post a question and wait for an answer or check back for replies. I like Google personally.

ESEE knives are manufactured by;

ROWEN Manufacturing
1280 Kohler Dr Idaho Falls, ID 83401

buy it:) and beat on it! its not too thick and I love it! Look into Ontario knives too, theres some good models out of 5160 steel for excellent price!

Where are ESEE knives and gear made?

With the exception of the Lite Machete blade, all ESEE branded knives are manufactured in Idaho Falls, Idaho by Rowen Manufacturing. Our Cordura MOLLE backs are sewn in Mexico and the Junglas Laserna Back Pack and Recovery Bag is made in Colombia.

I have an ESEE-6 and I love it. I love it so much I gave it a new handle made from museum grade Rosewood burl...the guy who made it for me was Randy Chinn, the master craftsman!
The knife is the one at the top of the three...please forgive the chintzy background! :)
The other two knives are an ESEE-5 with an Madagascar ebony handle by Pete Rassenti from Quebec, a really great wood crafter...and the third is an ESEE-4 with museum grade Bird's Eye Burl Maple, again by Randy Chinn.
I love ESEE knives and these three are collectors items now and see minimal use. I have a new ESEE Laser Strike on pre-order and I can't wait.

I edc my esee 3 at work everyday and I beat the heck outta this thing. If you like becker you will also like esee they are a great company with great products who stand behind there products 100% just like becker

Here is a shot of the ESEE-6 after being sharpened on the Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener by Clay Allison the owner of that sharpener company. He loved the knife a lot and so he gave it a mirror edge of scary sharpness to go along with the Honduran Rosewood Burl slabs. A better background don't you think! LOL!
