I've had comments that I need to use my knives, because they look like they're barely touched, when in fact I have beat the hell out of them.

No matter how bad I beat them up in the bush, I come home and wipe them down with gun oil, give them a quick sharpening and they always look brand new.

I think it's a conspiracy between Becker, Mike and Jeff. They just want us to look like mall ninjas so Moose and the other Beckerheads can make fun of us. :D

Amen, & the godfather is laughing right along with us right at this very moment . . . :D
Merry Christmas,
Be safe

That's good to hear because I have a green Izula and a black HEST (incoming) that I plan on USING (and maybe even abusing)!

I agree, but I found if you go out and baton through some nice Oak (a lot) you can get it to look "used". It will require some work though ;)

I know what you mean, that stuff is tough!

I hear ya. I had a similar comment made to me in another thread. But the coating on my 5, just like the knife itself is just pretty darn durable.

Does a real knife REALLY need silly looking checkering on the slabs?

God bless,
Adam

EDIT: Also, it's not fair that you guys can get the coat off your blade just by doing a paper test.

ESEE stuff is tough as nails....I have stripped A LOT of knives and I always have to spend more time in the blast cabinet with ESEE's

Batoning works best for coat removal, in my experience. And because batoning is fun, shouldn't be that hard to get it off ;)

I use the shit outta my Izzy and only got some smoothing of the coating. The coating sure is good stuff. Plus, it's laced with ESEE's proprietary addiction formula to make you buy more ESEEs.
