Do the new custom g-10 handles extend the grip length on the RC-4? It appears that maybe a little. Does anyone have them yet? I know the Knife Connection carries them. Very pricey though as an aftermarket item. ;)

I have a set on my 4, they do add about a half inch of length to the knife which is nice, but to me the real advantage of them is that they also add a bit of a palm swell in the handle. It makes the knife much more comfortable in the hand, and are worth every penny IMHO.

I was having the same issues with my 4 (handle length and diameter) made a set of wood handles from some teak and extended over the pommel, adds about 1/2 inch
in length. Diameter is just a matter of sanding to get the perfect fit.

Not hard to do if you have any wood working tools. A belt sander inparticular will help a lot. Plus, not that much money - wood's pretty reasonable. Just some time.

Working on a set for the Izula II (although just got an Eskabar, so they may go on that)

Beckers all have them too (what can I say, I like wood handles :D)

I agree with Cobra, make it yours :D and make your own... although I don't have a set I think it would help ergonomics of the 4.. I know after working with my 4 for an hour or so it sure could use them..

Thanks guys, I'm not qualified to carve a twig into a toothpick so buying some would be my consideration.

qborchert, you posted that they add about 1/2" to the length but I'm asking specificlly to the inside or "grip" portion of the handle. With a front and rear end that drops down - I'm wondering if there's anymore room for my big hand to fit with the G-10 customs?

I've already blunted the very end of the blade at the finger choil because my finger was in very dangerous of being sliced if I moved it at all. Tight fit unlike my RC-3MIL which had the same size handle but for whatever reason the choil is very secure feeling. Plenty of room for my finger. :)

Kind of hard to describe, but i have fairly big hands and the 4 with factory handles felt just a bit too small to me, the G10 TKC handles made the knife feel just about perfect. I guess it's one of those things that you have to try for yourself, but i can tell you that as soon as Dale has the new scales out for the Izula i'll be getting a set, and as soon as i can get a 3 it will be wearing a set as well.
