Where can I find information about the ESEE Forum Knife THIS thread is about? I'm interested, but would like to know what to be interested in.

There is no info nailed down yet. Supposed to be an Izula II with green blade and standard scales but no final details.

We've decided to go with the Izula II. The blade will be OD green and the handles will remain the same as the standard canvas micarta handles. The engraving on the blade needs to be discussed with Jeff and Shon and when I do I'll let you know.

The Mr and I have talked about adding an after market kydex sheath with each knife. Those details will also be worked out amongst us and I will let you know our decision at a later time.

I lifted this from another thread - I think it's everything we know about the forum knife at the moment. I for one am very much looking forward to it ;)
 
Not that there's anything wrong with the Izula II, but me thinks the Laser Strike would have been a fantastic forum knife. It's a knife none of us have yet and most of us want. To have your very own Rat Pack number on it...priceless.
 
The laserstrike isn't even out yet! We chose the II for the fact that a special edition cost (with some goodies added) will be reasonable.

I was hoping for a 440c LS pack knife. You fail.
(joking btw, just In case anyone thinks I'm nuts. The izula II is gonna be great)

Mrs. S, I am sure any ESEE knife which is designated as a "forum knife" will be appreciated by the masses . . . If not, I'll take two . . . :)

It's both refreshing and rare to enjoy literary allusions in a knife forum.

BTW, I hope the Rearden metal has the Rowen heat treat.
 
Rowen is Rearden reincarnated but not an idiot like Rearden was. In other words, Shon doesn't bow down to all those wanting to control him like Rearden did. Shon tells them to get lost and runs his shop as he see fit and STILL does innovative things. ;)
 
so you're saying Shon is a fountainhead of good cutlery & ideas?

See, told you guys! Rearden metal doesn't require sharpening so think of all the money you'll save on Sharpmaker rods over time. After the Rowen heat treat of course. It's taken a while to get here because only as much RM could go out as the competitor produced steel so Shon had to go all Ragnar with a Junglas in his teeth. The things the man does for his work.....
 
i wonder how many people will buy knives because they've never heard of rearden metal and have to have this new thing before it really takes off.
 
This is the second Ayn reference I've read on this forum in the last couple weeks.
