Can grip liners for the ESEE-4 be purchased separately to fatten up the grip of the knife like I see on certain other 4s?

Easy enough to just make your own (you already have the template ;))
However, new fasteners may be necessary after intallation.

I've seen people use Xbox game cases to make liners but like gostring said new fasteners.

The esee 4 dt has canvas micarta handles and no liner, but I believe the handle is the same thickness as the esee 4 with linen micarta handles and liner.

I used actual liner material instead of an X-Box game case, a novel concept I know.

Nice.
Is that typically an acceptable increase in width as to not affect OEM sheath fitment?

I modified the sheath as well at the top to allow it to insert. I used a small piece of the same liner material as a spacer.

I was just trying this the other day with my ESEE3 .I feel the handle is a bit thin for my hands I have yet to make real liners I was just trying different thickness paperboard to check the feel.

Wow lsheldon's, looks like you did a great job on those liners. By the looks of that thickness of handle, it seems about right as to what I'm looking for to serve me better.
