ESEE H∙E∙S∙T. Received it yesterday and already I love this knife. I will put up a review after more usage but for now here's a brief writeup.

The H∙E∙S∙T is very comfortable in my 4-1/8"-wide palms, very sharp, and the opener and prybar have not hindered my grips in any way yet. I used the prybar to remove a few large staples from some woodwork I was doing. The bottle opener does its job easily, happily opening two bottles of Żywiec beer. :) I really, really like this knife. I'm glade I went with it over the Izula-2 because I like the blade's size and thickness. ESEE boys, you did good. Again.:thumbup:

I just received my HEST as well - it's made a believer out of me. ESEE makes a high quality product with a great warranty at the right price, with a tradition of honesty.

It's good to see another positive experience with the HEST - as I've posted here, mine has been just great.

It's a great knife and I've used it for many different tasks, but last night was a first. I was munching on some pistachios and every once in a while I would get one that I couldn't open with my fingers. Eventually, I had about 20 that needed a little prying to open.........needless to say, the H.E.S.T. performed flawlessly...:D

That's the thing..... it's made in the USA, the ESEE guys seem like good guys, the steel is great, the ergos, craftsmanship, and warranty are all top-notch... how can you go wrong?! Now I gotta just argue with my friends why I won't lend it to them "to try out.":)

Splat,

good call. I'd go with the hest also...... if given the option......

anyhow I've had mine for quite some time now but have never used the wire breaker nor do I know how..

can anyone post a pic of the supposed wire breaker in action, I kinda wished it wasn't there myself.......

I don't mind the wire breaker. I like the space right before the edge starts. It makes it easier to sharpen. As for the wire breaker, it's more a repetitive motion thing than a brute strength-cutting tool. Keep twisting/bending a wire and it will break.

The HEST is an awesome little knife. I've been edc-ing one when in the city since the first of the year.
