Saw this in the dec 2010 blade magazine. Good to see ESEE being used in the sand.

Cool review, but I'm assuming they are stating MSRP pricing. I've NEVER seen a 5 for $255 even up in canada...

I hate MSRPs even though we do put them on our knives. In the knife industry, MSRP is roughly double dealer cost. Everyone uses it and we followed suit (probably the only damn thing we followed the industry on :). I think we may break away from MSRP in the future just because it's misleading and instead put an average retail price on our stuff. Of course some dealers will complain about this because they can no longer tell you you're saving 70 percent when you order from them, but the bottom line is MSRP is plain misleading in my opinion.

Most ppl with common sense know what Msrp really means. And know they aren't saving 70%. But I guess there's probably more sheep who will buy it from them because of the 70% savings?:eek::confused:

I guess what bothers me is this tradition of saying something is "worth" a helluva lot more than what it actually sells for. TV, magazines, and everyone else seems to be on the bandwagon that the buying populace is dumb. Maybe they are but I just figure our customers are due a little more credit for their intelligence level than the average Ronco Whizamatic buyer.

Thats what led a few people I knew to other knives, I recommended to them the 5, they said it was to expensive, I didn't understand till recently.

Your knives are the best bang for buck and use on the market. I know you guys take those comments with salt, cause you guys are good guys, but I am serious. You once said months ago, that you'd stake your life on busse blades and they are awesome ones. And yes they are. But yours are too!

Affordable and dependable!

Great news. I hate MSRP, gives our customs officials a damn high price to charge for a knife if I would pay MSRP from a manufactured in the states. MSRP + 20% on that. Then + 14% on the sum. Then ad customs handling fees. End up with a knife MSRP of $70 paying almost $140. That just sucks but that is part of life at the moment, even with the agricultural equipment a friend imports. Always work on full MSRP.

BTW. The photo states a CQC7....thats a Commander if my eyes serve me right. Good article nun the less.
