I'm opting for a good edc small fixed blade and already decided on the Izula. I would much rather prefer the Izula 2 because of the full fingered grip but I'm not sure if that would be to long to wear on the neck. I thought why not just belt clip it for the Izula 2 but sometimes i wear athletic shorts and I don't know how well it would stay on. So any thoughts or experience any feedback helps, thanks.:)

The clip will work fine with athletic shorts as long as you tie them up. As for being too long for neck carry, not sure I don't use that method. May want to take the scales off and wrap the handle or keep it skelotonized though.

I had a similar dilemma and decided on the Izula 1 and was not sorry. The 2 is a tad too long for useful neck carry and is far too long for my usual method of simply dropping it into my pocket like a pocket knife. The Izula 1 will do both carry methods easier, and with the addition of scales and a clip plate (or a simple industrial strength velcro wrap for a belt loop) you can carry this on your belt and it is not in the way. You also can carry it in a variety of positions easier. I have very large hands and the 1 fits ok. If you have Godzilla hands you might want the 2 for belt carry.

I also sold my Izula 2 and got another 1. They're perfect for pocket or horizontal belt carry. The extra handle length just got in the way. I use a bicycle inner tube on mine for horizontal carry. Even with T-K-C scales, it stays much flatter and more stable than it did with the belt clip. The tube won't help in gym shorts but it works great on a belt.

I own the Izula II, and have to say that yes, it is a tad big for neck carry. You could take the scales off and cordwrap it, but then why pay for scales you have no intention of using? In hindsight I would have been better off to choose the I. But I do love the II as a user, it's just inconvenient to carry, for me. I have a couple of other, smaller, neck knives that are better for neck carry, so unless you have big hands, I would stick with the I. Of course, with big hands you can add a small lanyard, which will increase the length without increasing the width, so you get a better grip. Clear as mud now? :)
