The much talked about, never updated, much anticipated knife, finally has a production prototype.
Although there is not much info being released at this time the Izula folder is talking steps in the direction of completion for 2015.
They anticipate the warranty to be the same as their fixed blades. Which IMO would make the knife.

That is a great looking knife...wish i didn't see this cause now Ill be fiending for one until they come out.
I too hope it is not AUS-8; seems a shame to make a high quality knife with all ti handles and use a relatively poor steel.
Im in for one regardless but...

Anyone have an idea on the size? Looks about 3" but hard to tell. (I guess probably 2.63 like the fixed?)

Looks great, took a while though. I do hope there will be a steel upgrade as well, I don't need another AUS-8 folder.

From ESEE website: "At this time we do not have any further information when it comes to final specs except for it will be all USA Made in the Rowen Manufacturing shop."

The latest word about the Izula folder was released at Blade, in Atlanta. There is a thread about it, around here somewhere.

IIRC, they plan to start selling them to coincide with Blade in 2015.

The Izula folder has been on-again, off-again, for something like eight years, now. Some have given up, some, like myself, say "I'll believe it when I see it".

I'm on the list to be notified when they come out. I am certain that there will be far more people who want the knife, than there will be knives to fill the demand, and prices on the secondary market will climb through the clouds within a month.

After about three months, when supply begins to catch up with demand, I'll pick one up on the secondary market.

If they are all Rowen made and stainless, 440c would be a safe bet I would say. That's the stainless the Izula uses, no?

Ti frame lock with Rowen's 1095, hmm. :-)

I can't really understand the huge fanbase surrounding this knife. The Izula is such a fantastic knife specifically because it's a sturdy little fixed blade for those who like to EDC such things. A folding version of that knife is just one in a trillion other amazing folders, and I just don't see what's special about this. Not trying to be a jerkbag, I just don't get it.

I have been hearing about this knife for years! I hope they make it with 1095, but I think that is just a dream on my part.

I second tapping it for left hand carry. Without that option, I won't buy.

This: "We anticipate the warranty will be the same as our fixed blade." For starters, for me at least.

Valid point. However, IF this ends up being FFG and 1095 with a no questions asked warranty at production or even mid tech prices. I can definitely see myself and many others throwing our mid sized framelock money at this thing.

That aside, I've been waiting years for ESEE to produce a proper folder so it may just be hype at this point but, I for one, want it.

To each his own though, that's the beauty of this hobby. Something for everyone.
