esee izula vs esee 3

Thats pretty much a personal question there buddy.

I would probably decide that depending on your cutting tasks and the size your willing to carry.

I have a izula I carry once in a while IWB or pocket and find it comfortable.

I have both. I would say because of the size izula would be the edc. The esee 3 however is more versitile and can preform more tasks. In an outdoor wilderness environment i would edc the esee 3 over an izula.

I sometimes carry an Izula IWB and it is great. I also have an esee 3 but rarely carry that as I live in city so it does not see a lot of outdoor time, unless I feel like taking it to the yard. The Izula would be a great EDC and if you have larger hands, I would suggest getting the Izula 2 because of the longer handle.

In an urban environment the ESEE 3 is way out of place. The Izula is more discrete and manageable.

My ESEE 3 might be my favorite knife, but I still wouldn't EDC it. What you EDC often depends on what you do for a living, so your mileage may vary. I would carry whatever my occupation required of me.

i live on a farm and hardly go into urban environment. is the only difference between the izula and the izula 2 the handle size?

Yes. (and the price :D)

As others have said, it's a per. pref. thing. But if it doesn't have to be concealed, and it's between those 2, I'd go with the 3 or even a 4.

We have a farm (horses) truth be told, the knife we use the most is a utility knife (razor knife) (LOL)
Cutting string on hay bales, opeing shavings bags, grain bags, etc. String, paper, burlap, etc. dull up a blade right quick.
Why dull up a good knife on junk if you don't have too. JMHO.

But ... I always have a couple three other knives around ... :D

Tell you what works great on the farm, is a $10 Mora. Light. easy to carry, sharpens in a heart beat and if it gets lost/broken ... It's $10.

Right on Cobra

Personally always feel there is no reason a 1095 fixed blade should be over $60 unless it's handmade or size of a sword. Some how a little micarta and kydex gets people to pay more than 10x what the materials cost.

I often EDC my Izula around my neck under my t shirt, I find it VERY comfortable. Especially not having to carry more junk in my pockets. Took a few days to get used to though. Definitley not for everyone, but if it works i think you'll really like it.

I can't decide whether to purchase the Izula 2, the Gerber - "Ghostrike", or the Kabar - "Eskabar". I fully intend concealed carrying the knife in a horizontal or side draw position, with that in mind - does anyone have any experience with either the Eskabar or the Ghostrike? The only thing that concerns me with the Gerber knife is there a recent decline in quality and it's only a 420c blade so it might not be up to the hardness level of the other two and lacking edge retention for everyday use and abuse. Thanks for any input.
