Here a small comparison of three neck-knives: ESEE Izula, Fox COMPSO and CRKT MK5

All the three are very compact knives, the Izula is 160 mm OAL, the COMPSO 145 mm OAL, the CRKT just 95 mm OAL

My comparison its based just on my impression, nothing scientific, I give a score just to quantify my impressions o fuse.
Cutting a branch (diameter 1,5 cm) for my test whit the Izula, not bad at all, the Izula has a good cutting efficiency

Pointing a branch and a Y carving whit the Izula

Cutting efficiency: 7,0/10
Handle comfort: 6,5/10
Now the same tasks using the Compso, pointing a branch and a Y carving

Cutting efficiency: 7,0/10
Handle comfort: 6,5/10
Last but not least, the CRKT MK5

Its impossible doing some carving or pointing the branch, the handle is actually too short for my big hands
Cutting efficiency: non valutabile
Handle comfort: 3,0/10
Final score:
ESEE Izula: 13,5/20
Fox COMPSO: 13,5/20
CRKT MK5: 3,0/20
Dorsal view of Izula and Compso

The sheats:

All the sheats are good in retentioning the knives, speaking about the fit and finish the Compsos sheat is the best, than the Izulas sheat, finally the CRKTs sheat.
Compacteness:

the Izula cant stay on the front pocket of my bag

the COMPSO can stay on the front pocket of my bag

obviously the CRKT MK5 can stay on the front pocket of my bag too.
Conclusions: all these knives are very compact fixed blades, the real neck-knife is in my opinion the CRKT MK5, which is actually tiny. I may see better the Izula and the Compso in a pocket or a small bag

Its a tie for the Izula and the Compso, both the knives had a good cutting efficiency, both are comfortable being so small. These two knives are essentially back-up knives, you may put one of them in your rucksack and forgot him until the moment you need it, cause your main knife is broken or lost. For a daily hiking they could be also the main blade, good enough for small and brief task. Using a wooden handle, they could be also good for heavy tasks too (i.e. minute 5:16 of this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgslKiTMq9c ). If the Izula was tried whit some handles or just a paracord handle I guess that his score should be 0,5 more on the handles comfort.
About the CRKT MK5, its too small that is just a back-up knife, or you may use it as an EDC but just for light tasks. Putting on it a wooden handle you may instead perform also heavy tasks (see this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xotDT9tCKPQ )
