I was wandering how the izula did as a small fixed knife to go with my becker bk9? I would be skinning small as well as large game, making feather sticks, carving, cutting rope, and sharpening sticks. How dos it do those tasks? what about the becker bk14?

I cant speak to skinning game but the izula excels at all of those other tasks. I have the izula II because I wanted some extra real estate on the handle. Great steel, fair price, great warranty. Im sure the becker would do fine as well.

Becker folks have pics of the 14 doin all those things well, I plan to pick it up as a replacement belt knife to my heavier stuff, goin lighter and lighter as time moves on.

I own an Izula, and feel, that for me it needs the optional clip on the sheath to be of much use to myself. I find it very attractive, as a belt knife. I kinda prefer the BK11 to the BK14, but aim to get a BK24 in D2. Still I don't particularly care for the neck carry of these knives.

The original Izula and the Swamp Warden are the two best neck knives/small fixed blades out there in my opinion. Get yourself some custom kydex from any one of the great sheath makers on these forums and you're good to go.

The BK24 in stainless is another option. I personally think for the task you are considering, that you are going to want to get the Izula II. If you are going to use it often, you are going to want the scales to keep your hands from getting hot spots!
