I have a black ESEE Izula along with a set of handles coming from the Knive Connection, ordered yesterday and they shipped today.I can't wait.
The sheath seems to have only one hole to thread paracord thru.Is there a certain way to do this to keep the knife flat on your chest?
I already have a bunch of black 550 paracord, will that be to big?

The stock sheath has one larger hole on the bottom and 4 smaller riveted holes on the sides (two to each side).

What's with the Izula bandwagon?

Not trying to be a cynical douchebag, it's a legit question. Why has there been a recent explosion in demand for Izulas? I think they are a very cool knife (bought mine about a year ago), but they have always been the same knife. Why now? Was it because of the new colors?

Not unless they've changed it. They have one big round one on the bottom, two smaller round ones on one side, and a slot in the other side.

To the OP, if you want to wear it around your neck paracord will work. You just slip it through one of the small holes and through the slit on the other side. The way it's weighted you can only do it with the grip hanging down though.

Things on the forum are cyclical. Certain knives come up from time to time and then we'll move on to something else.

Yep, you're correct, my apologies for the misinformation OP. forgot about the slot on the one side instead of the riveted holes. (maybe thinking about the Godspeed kydex I have on the way a little too much, lol).

Back when there was an ESEE forum, there were threads dedicated to how people used paracord with their izulas. Try searchng in the ESEE subforum archives. There is a ton of Izula content. Just about every day there were five new Izula threads:p.

Here is one simple way other than what shotgun mentioned (just to throw it out there:thumbup:). It is less stable, but it keeps the other holes "open."

Thanks for the help. Being right handed I'd want the curve or the grip going toward my left.I'm hoping I will just be able to turn the sheath over.

Maybe it's just that with spring here folks are looking at upgrading their kit? That's my reason.

Yes. Social Media. Lurking on Reddit, you can blame /r/knives and /r/EDC for recent trendsetting.

Dunno what this all means (no social networking here) but I'd say the Izula is always popular. It's just every so often people sort of "find it" again. I suppose there are all sorts of reasons, the above included.

This is how I carry mine also.

You can just switch the way you run the cord through depending on how you want it to fall. It's not very complicated to figure out.

You can strip the strands out of the para cord for a flat and more comfortable fit. Also keep in mind that you could snag the rig on something. Lots of guys go with a beaded chain that will break away if snagged. Home centers carry the chain in many finishes. Lighting dept, ceiling fan pull chains.

I'm going to be wearing this under my shirt as a CC knive. Down the road I'm going to get the clip for IWB carry and try that.
Are ther any custom sheath makers out there,as that's an option also.

I really like the factory sheath. But it might be a little big for under the shirt, unless you are a pretty big guy. You should check out some of the kydex makers on here. You can get some very minimal kydex for pretty cheap. It will be just a little bigger than the blade and would work very well for under your shirt. That is what I have for mine, but i dont wear it under my shirt. the nice thing about the kydex is that most can be used for neck carry, IWB, horizontal, vertical, pocket, tek lock or in your teeth like a pirate. So you really only need to get one for how ever you want to carry it now or in the future. I have carried my Izula for over a year now and it always migrates to my back pocket.

As far as sheath makers go there are tons of them here, and they are very good.

Yep it's ambidextrous. Shouldn't be a problem. I recommend trying out the sheath for a while before going with a custom one. I thought I'd need a custom sheath but found that the stock sheath is actually pretty good.
