I couldn't find anywhere what coating ESEE uses for their knives. Wondering because I love the durability and would want to put it on some other knives.

Looking under the Izula description on the ESEE site it says: Textured Powder Coat

It's proprietary and contains special pheromones that cause the possessor to purchase more and more ESEE products.

The above only gets worse when you strip them. Patinas only make the disease progress faster.

Okay, so I found powder coating isn't an easy process, well... it requires certain equipment anyway.

Look into durakote - there are some forum members that could help in that regard, if need be.

Yeah usually powder coating is done by specialized companies. I once worked for a powder coating company. You need special spray guns to spray the powder on the item you are coating, which has to be charged as well as the powder. Then its a trip through the oven and presto.

Though I bet if you looked in the yellow pages you might be able to find a nearby powder coating shop to get it done. Seriously doubt they would charge much, as long as is it's a common color.
