ESEE Knives Replacement Handles

I ordered an ESEE-3mil, but I want to put orange G10 handles on it. I ordered some of the handles from ESEE's website, but after I did, I saw what they had written on their site:

PLEASE NOTE: These handles fit the models specified below. Handles include hardware for the model specified (hardware color may vary). Please order the exact model you wish to replace since the hardware is made to fit exactly. We DO NOT guarantee a precise perimeter fit as we do on the original handles. This is due to us "marrying" a set of handles to each individual blade during production and not having that option on replacement handles. Except for the orange G10, all handles are made from either Linen or Canvas Micarta. All International orders must contact orders@eseeknives.com for shipping costs before placing an order!

Has anyone here ever ordered replacement handles and had them not fit very well?

I've ordered several different sets of handles from esee and they all fit perfect, so don't worry about it. I've also swapped handles from the esee5 to 6 with perfect fit too.

My TKC scales on my RC-4 fit perfectly. Not fitting required.

ive put TKC scales on all of my ESEE knives and imo they are the bees-knees. perfect fit and excellent ergos (despite my huge mitts)

TKC scales are not what he's asking about.

well he did ask "Has anyone here ever ordered replacement handles and had them not fit very well?" and TKC scales are often bought as a replacement, soooo....

Nope, he specifically bought g10 scales from ESEE's website. They are stock orange g10 handles manufactured by ESEE. The TKC handles are made by TKC and are not the same.

I realize all of that....just giving the fella a heads up on a quality product that might be a better choice.

You guys are hilarious. The OP made a purchase and was concerned when he read the text on the website and was looking for very specific information to calm his fears of scales not fitting properly. If you wanted to help him out, perhaps you could answer his question...

Reading is key, guys. Stay in school.

lol...ok, i'll do my best to help the guy out. I have an orange G10 pair of ESEEs I ordered when I bought my candiru and they fit just fine... but I prefer the TKC scales I later ordered for it, hands down. better?

lol. Thanks for all the replies. What do you guys like about the TKC G10 scales over the ESEE scales?

They have better ergonomics. In my case, I got them for a 3 and they are thicker, contoured, and extended for a longer handle. On top of that the g10 is given a slight ripple for added traction. I do have both the factory and tkc grips and the tkc ones are superior. I'll post a pic in a min. :)

As Promised :)

agreed...of the ESEE knives I own, the Junglas and my Izula II are the two that benefitted the most from the swap to TKC

Good to know. I am using the 3 mil as an EDC, so I want to be able to use the glass breaker for emergencies.
