Esee KSF sheath retainer strap

Hi guys, last week I bought an Esee 4 with the KSF leather sheath. LOVE IT!

One complaint: the retainer strap is in my way when re-sheathing. Now I'm a farmer & construction worker and I use my knife about ever 92sec so I do a lot of drawing / re-sheathing and already the hold down strap has a few knicks in it from the blade so there's that but mostly it's just in my way. I try to tuck it up between the outer part and my belt and that works OK for a bit but it doesn't tuck there securely enough to stay. I was thinking id try to somehow attach it there... Maybe a snap I put there (on the inside of the belt loop part) or even just some sort of nylon or leather band/strap to keep it there.

Ideas which add the least physical bulk (I don't mind weight, an extra oz is nothing... bulk is what bothers me)? Thanks guys!

My friend, a photo is worth a thousand words. I'm not even sure the sheath you have was originally made for the ESEE 4, based on your buying source, but that aside, I for one need to see what I'm trying to fix before I start to try to fix it. Help me out!

Paul
