Second, REALLY, I am NOT SELLING ANYTHING!

After speaking with Shotgunner and getting Jeff's permission I am posting this thread to see if there is enough interest amongst you Rat Packers to get a discount on some custom engraved AR-15 stripped lowers.

The graphic to be used is forthcoming. Once the engraver and I get a nice looking, workable design squared away I will post it here, hopefully with pics of an engraved sample.

He is currently working on a piece for me and is based out of Maryland. A very nice fella and great to work with in my experience.

He uses lowers from Hughes Precision because they ship him blanks.

I will compile a list of interested parties so that I can hopefully get Jim to give us a decent discount. The more of us the better.

However, ESEE Knives has nothing to directly do with this. Bladeforums has nothing to do with this. The list is simply to compile interested parties info in one place so Jim can justify a discount and you can get a damn cool lower receiver. All transactions will be handled on an individual basis and you will have to have an FFL in your area that Jim can ship to.

Also, if you can't/shouldn't have one for whatever legal reason...don't ask for one or put your name on the list. If you don't have the funds don't put your name on the list.

Neither I nor ESEE will make anything off of these transactions. Jeff was kind enough to authorize the use of ESEE artwork and I am doing the leg work for fun.

So here is the deal. Harford Engraving (heretofore referred to as "Jim") normally sells custom engraved lowers for $160 shipped to your FFL(see their website). With the discount it will be lower than that. As of right now that is all the info we have. I am going to work on the artwork with Jim and when we have something to show you I will post it.

So, if you are interested and want to be put on the list please post accordingly. If you have questions feel free to ask them and I will do my best to answer or I will find some one who can.:D

ADDED 3/7/10 at 0937 MST: The poll has closed and I just sent design number 3 to Jim so he can work out a sample. To keep in the latin american spirit the fire selectors will read FUEGO and SEGURO...I am pretty certain that is accurate linguistically but if I am wrong someone please speak up. Unfortunately PEACE/REST IN PEACE was too wordy for the selectors. :)

I will post his sample, pricing, color choices if any, and any other info from him as soon as I get it. Remember, please honor your commitment so that Jim feels good about this deal and we are all happy. I would very much appreciate it if you all could notify me via email or pm once you place your order, it is shipped and received so I can update each individuals status on the primary post.


ADDED 3/8/10 at 1728 MST: The pricing I have confirmed with Jim is $140 per stripped engraved lower receiver. Shipping to your FFL is $10 and add $5 per extra receiver. For instance, if you order 2 receivers it would be $140 x 2 + $10 + $5 = $295 total.

I will post a sample of that they will look like once Jim emails it to me. in the mean time feel free to start ordering if you are not feeling especially patient.

Again, please let me know privately so I can update your order status on this post.

Jim currently has 12 receivers in stock and it will take him about a week to get more in from the time he orders them. If you order and he runs out please be patient with him. He ALWAYS gets back to you even if it takes a day or two sometimes because he is swamped.

ADDED 3/8/10 at 2319 MST: Below please find the final design engraving sample. The rivets on the knife handles will be solid to make the engraving cleaner.

Here is the link to Jim's custom paypal payments. Just click on the "make a custom payment" icon about half way down the page. If you are ordering one lower your total amount that you are sending him will be $150. When you place your order let him know what your screen name on BF is, give him your FFL's info, and specify that you are ordering the ESEE custom engraved lower.

AGAIN, let me know how it is going every step of the way and PLEASE...lots of pics when you get 'em :).

You've got my attention. Not sure if i'm looking for another lower BUT the stars could align (wife could say okay) and I would def like one. I would like to follow this and see where it leads, keep us updated.
 
I would also be interested to see where this goes. Would have to talk to a local FFL to see for sure if I could do it.
 
Ok. I will have to make a couple of calls tomorrow then. I am actually kind of excited about this.
 
I do not have any experience with Hughes Precision receivers. If you have any questions or concerns about the product they make I would suggest giving them a ring and asking a bunch of questions. I am not a machinist, neither is Jim. If you do happen to get any info you feel like sharing this would be the place to do it.
 
Im down for one, would love another lower w/the ESEE logo. Please add my name to the list. I have an FFL buddy here in CT. , Im sure he would do the transaction.

I was going to pick up another lower for a future build anyway, and this sounds sweet.
 
I am interested but I will have to check for local a local FFL dealer. wanted another anyhow so this would be great.
 
I just put the first two graphic options in the first post. Have a gander. Eventually I will post a poll to determine which one we use.
 
Any thoughts on the design...good bad indifferent...anything you would like to see? I haven't involved Jim in the design work yet so I want to come to him with something either completely done or close to save on costs.

Thanks for the excitement guys...glad I am not the only one.

I am only adding people to the list that overtly say "I am interested". I will refine the list once a graphic is approved and pricing is concrete.
