Comfortable micarta handle, good usable edge right out of the box, cool logo...:D

Honestly, a machete is a machete to me personally. It's just a tool that I like to be disposable so I get the cheapest one I can find and beat on it till I need another.

Also I find that edge retention on Imacasa machetes (Imacasa made the blades for the ESEE machetes) is superior to that of the Lasher Tools (Cold Steel) pieces.

I would think that the micarta handle would tranfer vibrations to the hand a little less than a hard plastic would. Aside from that it seems like every other light weight machete out there. Oh, and if your machete is retaining an edge then it probably spends most of its time in the sheath. ;)

the micarta handle is the best set of scales or handle ,I have ever seen on a machete.
Edge retension is good and the blade length is perfect to me...
I think it is "The Bee's Knee's" in the Machete line up today....
Cool Logo's help too .... Gotta look good while working :D

Is it worth it???? Well I guess that depends on how you define worth.

For me, worth has more meaning than steel, micarta, a coating on the blade and the price. To me the logo and the American men who own and run an American company have more worth than the $50 machete.

Is it worth it to stand behind them, their company and our country like they stand behind everything they sell or GIVE AWAY FOR FREE? Well, I guess that question can only be answered by how you define "WORTH", but for me, it is WELL WORTH it to support a company who actually treats me the customer with WORTH.

alright. i hate to say it but you guys have sold me on it. i will be including an ESEE lite machete with my next order. hopefully soon. very very soon

It seems very beefy... maybe too beefy? Depends on yer hand size of course. I find that I get a better, more comfortable grip on knives, hatchets, etc. when their handles fall on the thinner end of the spectrum. I always wanted an RTAK II but those fat handles kept me away. So when the Junglas, with its thinner handle, was announced I was pretty happy. I just ordered one yesterday:D. I also ordered the Lite Machete with it and I'm honestly worried about the handle. If it is too big for my hand is there a safe and effective way to trim it down? I'm assuming that sanding the outside surface of the micarta would ruin its grippy quality, but what about taking the scales off and sanding the inside of them?

well a bad angle pic on my part ,to me the handle is not to beefy... feels good ,I repositioned my grip by placing my thumb on spine to show a inhand shot w/o my hand blocking the view of the lite machete.
you can sand either side but I highly suggest sanding the outer portion ,not the flush fit against the blade.

Tony, is all that fingernail biting caused by having to deal with Mrs. Shotty on a daily basis?

since the tang is inset, pulling the scales and sanding the inside surface would be bad.
as long as you do the reshaping to the outside with an 80-120 grit belt, the scales should stay plenty grippy without being too coarse.

Are the barrel nuts on the Junglas the same dimensions as the ones used in the RC knives?
Just curious as to how much of a pounding they can withstand. I generally mod the grips on my machetes with stronger ergo scales and heavy duty stainless hardware just because I've popped plenty of factory grips loose in the field.

Can you tell I'm attempting to justify another chopper? I do love my big blades.

Do it. This thing and grip simply rock.

I'm hoping to see esee do some more condors up. I love my Viking, but the handle just blows. </subtle hinting>

keep rubbing it in Tony - my trip down that way got postponed yesterday.
now I'm looking at late july or mid-august for Houston.
OTOH, that gives me some time to try and convince SWMBO to tag along. (assuming Katie will be willing to let her hang around during the day while I'm in training during the day)

Here is My ESEE Lite Machete ! Had a little mod to it! Replaced the Sheath that came with it, This is a Condor Leather Fits Great! I paid $ 24.99 for Well made. Shout out to
Forty2 for doing the Mod to it. A little handle work, flatten the top out, rounded the top near the fornt a little. Handle feels better now. Thanks Forty2 Here is a pic
