Couple questions:
1) what is the rivet hole for on the handle retaining strap
2) is "molle" pronounced "mole" or "molly" or ?

If you mean the large rivet just below the handle retaining strap on the top portion of the 2 piece molle back, its the back side of the snap that the molle strap on the back is snapped to.

Cant post pics, but when the sheath is attached to the molleback, you stick the knife in the sheath and then fold over one handle strap(velcro) then the other over it(also velcro). The second strap has a rivet hole in it. These straps hold the handle to the molleback

Looking at it, it looks like it is to add some strength and rigidity to the the strap. I could be wrong though.
