ESEE RC3, RC4 vs HEST: Handle Thickness?

I searched and couldn't find anything. Then, I was going to post this over at ESEE's new forum on their site but apparently new registrations aren't permitted att. Can anyone please tell me whose handles are wider/thicker, the RC3, RC4, or the HEST? Thanks.

There are instructions on the ESEE forum to get registered. Seems like the HEST is about the same thickness as the 4, as far as the thickness of the handle.

thickness or width?

Both handles are the same thickness (esee 3&4) but the blade stock on the 4 makes it slightly thicker. As far as the HEST, I'm not sure, but I'd assume that the handle scales are the same thickness as the others and again the blade stock thickness would determine the over all thickness.

As far as width (which I don't think you meant, but maybe) The 3&4 are identical I think, they only differ in handle length and blade stock thickness (as well as blade length)

OK, just typed up a lengthy reply and my damn laptop touchpad went crazy and I lost it. In short, thanks for replying, guys. It looks like a 4 might be in order. I loved my HEST but I've come to wish it was a bit thicker in the handle. Yes, new scales might do it but I'd want something to totally encase the tang for a fuller grip all around. I'll check out the 4.

splat - the 4 feels totally different from the 3 in a good way - the extra 1/16" of blade thickness makes a world of difference.
Also, the aftermarket scales from TKC are thicker than the factory scales as well as being longer -- i found them worth the extra $$.

and when your touchpad eats a long reply, hit "ctrl z" a time (or maybe 3) and see if it comes back.

I looked around on TKC but didn't find scales for the HEST, only for the Izula I. Would you mind PM'ing me a link to the scales you're talking about? They sound like they might do the trick.

Whassat? Undo? That would work but in my case when my laptop's touchpad flipped out I went back a few pages and lost my reply I was typing. Not a cool thing when that happens. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and its touchpad handling sucks. I still love Ubuntu enough to keep using it though.

no one I know of makes production aftermarket scales for the HEST. TKC makes them for the ESEE3 & 4, though.
I have a set for my 4 and they're thicker than the factory scales and extend past the end of the tang by about 3/8".

and yes, ctrl z is a keyboard shortcut for undo.
