when I was at BLADE today the kid behind the ESEE counter pointed out a survival book published by ESEE. I meant to pick it up when I bought my RC-3 but forgot.
what book is this?

Off topic, but the kid is a sales guru in the making.

He'll do well selling cars or something else if the knife thing doesn't work out for him. He was working me hard to go from the ESEE-4 to the ESEE-5 or -6. I held out, but he was good.

It's pretty good, it's mostly just a well compiled collection of Jeff and Mike's adventure travel and jungle experiences. You'll find stuff in most survival manuals that aren't completely layed out in this book, but you'll find alot of the human element in this book that is absent from most other survival manuals. It reads just like Jeff talks on here- No BS advice. Definately worth the money, I find myself flipping through it alot even after I read it cover to cover.
