One of the drawbacks of the Zancudo is the difficulty in disengaging the lock and closing the knife. Thumb pain.

Has anyone done a successful modification to remove some of the plastic scale to expose more of the lock bar to make this easier and how did you do it?

Thanks

I didn't do any modifications to mine (older AUS-8 model) but it definitely got a lot better with use. I had it for a few years and now it flicks open easily and closes fairly easily too.

Ok, I decided not to leave your question unanswered;

Yes. I did it in ten minutes. It's not pretty(no sandpaper) but it actually makes it quite better. I even added jimping on the lock bar. All you need is a file(I used a chainsaw file). Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Since posting I disassembled and cleaned and lubed it. I put a little pencil graphite on the contract point with significant improvement
