Hi guys. Great forum. I've been trying to absorb info like a sponge.

I have always owned/abused ~$80 folding work knives and never really followed the industry, but last Tuesday I purchased my first ESEE RC-5. The knife was pre-owned but never used. The knife is AWESOME! I sat at a bonfire for three hours beating on the knife. If I stopped swinging the knife or cutting something I passed the knife off to a friend and they messed with it until I took it back. Cutting 3" logs, stabbing logs, making spears, stripping bark off of 12" diameter stumps we use as bonfire chairs, etc... I woke up the next morning and the knife would still shave hair off my arm. I just laughed in astonishment. I'm a fabricator and work with steel but never knew this type of punishment could hold an edge.

I left my buddies house that morning and stopped at the gun and knife show I planned on attending and picked up two ESEE-3's. I carried a 3 on my belt all day and I love having a fixed blade.

Thanks for an excellent product and I'm sure I will be adding knives as soon as money permits.

Thanks
Hank

Big Hank, welcome to the wonderful world of insanity called the ESEE knife forum. I just bought my first ESEE a few weeks ago & the addiction has set in very well, have an ESEE-4 & an Izula coming for my wife. Some think there is a secret addiction liquid Jeff & Mike put into the handles, no cure or antidote for it . . . :)
Great bunch of guys here, a ton of knowledge & experience, and some interesting pics as well. Welcome aboard.
Be safe.

I can't wait to get a 3...

I went for the smallest first (Izula), and then the biggest (Junglas), and then I went on a frenzy buying a couple of hatchets and a tomahawk (wish ESEE made some!), and now I'm back in the market for some of the ESEE goodness in the middle.

Welcome to bladeforums and ESEE knives!

JGON

Glad you like your ESEE's. Another good thing about them is not only do they hold they edge well, they're easy to sharpen too.

I've been wanting to get an ESEE for a while. I went to a gunshow yesterday with a couple "extra" firearms to sell. A vendor asked if I would be interested in any trades for my handgun. I am now the proud owner of a RAT-5 and three junglases (jungli?). Can't wait to try them out!

The ESEE 5 was my first. Once you find the carry method that fits you best, it becomes your best friend.
