I just got my IZULA and ESEE3in the mail today. I do have a question though. When attaching my scales to the izzy and the sheath to the backer do I need to blue loctite the screws?

sweet! i use blue loctite on the scale screws but not on the sheath screws. batoning a knife causes vibrations that could loosen the screws over time whereas the sheath is usually on the ground/on my belt.

You can loctite the scales, but I would not advise it on the sheath hardware unless you don't plan to change it out often.

Just curious, did anyone else have a hard time attaching the scales to the Izula? Since both sides of the screws use the same size hex key and I only had one hex key handy, I would end up twisting on one side while the other spun around.

Finally I got fed up and spent an hour looking for a spare hex key that would fit the other side so I could lock it down while tightening. Maybe I was doing something wrong? Anyways, just a random observation :)

nope just thumb pressure on the opposite side was plenty to hold it until it was tight enough to hold itself.

I must have weak thumbs then :( That's what I tried and it didn't do a thing to keep it stable while tightening.

As a last ditch effert, a guy could use a small flat head screwdiver to hold it in place while you tighten the other with a hex.

an hour looking for a spare?! i would've gone straight to sears to pick up another set. then again i'm a tool whore.

The allen wrench size is 3/32" Most of the time you can hold one side with your thumb while tightening the other side. If not, then you need two wrneches to do it.

put a dab of super glue under the head of the female screw to hold it in place while you tighten the male side down?
