I have recently ordered a bunch of bits n' bobs to help attach my Esee's to my pack (a Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II). I plan on having the 6CP mounted on the side with full MOLLE back and accessory pouch (full of lots of goodies, arrowheads etc and so on), Izula mounted to the left hand front shoulder strap and am working out where I can place the H.E.S.T. The 3CP or 4 CP I plan on carrying hori on the belt. You can never be over-knifed can you??? :D

Any of you fine people have photos of what you have done for inspiration?

Here is my pack; small enough for easy carry, big enough for overnighters and light weight camping exp'...

I've been meaning to post some pics of my pack load-out, perhaps when I get a chance I will take some pics, not a max though.. I use a Kelty Redwing exclusively..

If there is MOLLE on the opposite (left?) side of the bottle holder, I'd put it there.

I keep my HEST in the CC pocket of my Maxped VersiJumbo - it's quite happy there.
RC5 on my belt (scout carry), Izzy in pocket.

It's all quite comfortable and I can easily do an overnight with a poncho and emergency blanket if need be... Can always make a wikiup or debris hut, too, if weather warrants the calorie spend.

here is one of my packs ready to go, junglas attached to the side 6 on the belt and 3 in a pocket of the pack.

I was looking at getting the kelty redwing pack how does it hold up? Does it compare to the maxpedition packs? It looks to offer as many pockets and I know kelty is tough.i have had a kelty for years and I use it every day.

its worked for me, really the only thing I'll buy to be honest..

the one I have now is fairly new, I've really only had it out and about once.. but I know it'll hold up, no worries.. most of all I love the thru pockets as I can carry fishing poles, tent poles, machetes what ever.. and don't have to worry about lashing those larger items anywhere..

I currently have the '09 model 3100.. I bought this one online/onsale w/shipping included for $71.. shop around..

The redwing has more support and is less expensive, they both have life time warranty.

How I yearn for some free time! My Redwing is still sitting in my man cave with the tags on it. I need to get a pic of it put together. The pass behind side pockets make an excellent sleeve to slide the Lite Machete into. It’s like it was made for it. You won’t find me carrying 4 knives most likely, at least not on purpose (hey sometimes they just kind of fall in to kits to be forgotten!) I’ve grown pretty fond of the Lite Machete. It paired with a 3, 4 or 6 will pretty well take care of most tasks.

I have taken my kelty all over alaska, and texas. Rock climbing, camping, and every day to work.it still looks great except for a spot on the side meshing, but its small.great bag for the $$.when I was in the army I used akelty 3500 3 day assault pack, out was way better than the camel bak military and the bug out many had.it not near as nice as the london bridge packs or eagle ind.they were about the only packs we could jump with outgrew than the rucks.

Here are some pics of my bug out bag with my Junglas and ESEE 3MIL attached, like they always are. My pack is a Kifaru X-Ray, 1 Mid-Long Pocket on each side, and an Organizer up front. The X-Ray has 1,800 Ci of space and each Mid-Long Pocket has 500 Ci of space. My Junglas is mounted on the left side under the external pocket, upside down. I had to to mount it that way due to it's length and the available MOLLE mounting points. To access it I just un-click two of the pockets buckles and I can grab the handle. My ESEE 3MIL is mounted up front on my left front shoulder strap upside down for speedy deployment.

Nice ruck, I have always liked Kifaru.

Onething I would do is turn that prybar around if you are going to carry it like that. The edge will rub a hole through your ruck. Maybe cut a piece of fuel line hose and zip tie it to the edge through the nail puller hole to if you want to keep the edge rubbing against your ruck.

Thanks! Yeah they make some of the best stuff around. I don't normally carry that prybar in there like that, I had just stuck it in there for the photo since I had it out of the pack. I duct tape up both ends of it so it doesn't tear a hole in my pack.
