Was just on

And my pc ESET firewall lit up yellow and blocked the page due to a potentially unwanted application (networkprimechain.com). Went back to the page and ESET let up red and blocked the page warning of there being a phishing threat. (6linb5yp.buzz)
Went back again and had a window open purporting to be MacAfee telling me windows was infected.

I am thinking this is related to one of the adverts, but don’t know.

PC is currently disconnected from internet while running scans. :(

That thread is three pages long. Which page were you on?
Once you tell me which page to look at, I will check each post for hidden links.

thanks!

Sorry, I must have edited the link too much when I removed the post number. The URL still shows “page 3”, but doesn’t take one there.

thanks!

I've checked every post on that page for hidden links, and have found none. There is a visible link to Wiki, and it may be that there is a corruption there. But I clicked the link and didn't see anything. But the wiki page has several dozen visible links and I did not chase any of them down,

It could be one of the adverts. I've seen that happen before. Those are supplied by an external advertising service and Spark has no actual control over what they contain. Per contract, they are not supposed to contain bogus links, but like I say, I've seen it happen. My best suggestion is to log out. Clear your cookies. Close the browser. Then open the browser and log back in. That should cause the system to generate a new advert which would be unlikely to be infected.

Did all those things. Opened this thread on the PC and promptly got a red Potential Phishing Attempt block. The URL that it is picking up is (I messed with the https so the link isn’t active here)

More sure now it’s an advert. On same PC, problem first appeared with Chrome browser, then just now when trying with Edge, but not on Firefox, which I set up ages ago to be more secure and accept less, and as such I don’t see the adverts with it, and it’s sitting happy.

I guess I have some research to do, how to stop the ads from activating on Chrome
