I started a small fire today (I was showing my son a one stick fire) and had used my BK14 for the wood processing. As we sat there playing with the various size pieces of wood in our small fire I took the empty sheath and blew in the end of it forcing a rather strong small direct stream of air out the drain hole in the bottom of the sheath. I probably looked like a duck with the sheath in my mouth but it worked extremely well to blow on the fire and keep my face a little farther away from the flames. Maybe this has already been talked about here but it was new to me!!

Awesome!!!! Great info, I never thought about it before, but that would work well for many other things. Like burn outs for spoons and bowl carvings.

Great stuff, man, great stuff.

it's actually a whistle. bet you didn't know that. you know, like a dog whistle. most people don't know what it whistles FOR.

yeah. think about that one for a minute. uh huh. it's not a moose whistle just to help out.

if enough people use that whistle at the same time... something WILL happen. a matter of time. you'll see.

now, for bonus points, use the BK2 sheath as a blow gun :>

Dang! I didn't try the blow gun idea, but when I got home I tried my little trick with my BK2 sheath and it didn't work very well.

That is pretty cool. Turning a simple drain hole into more than what it is. That's awesome. Like Moose said, it'd be great for doing burn outs and such. I may just try it out tomorrow. A small hole is alot more directed than you using your lips. Nice thinking, Idaho.

Tried it immediately. Extremely useful as I always have at least one of my 11's on me when in the woods. Cool find.

Cool! I used to use a 2" piece of hairpipe when lighting fires with flint and steel. I never would have thought about using the sheath that way! Very nice find!
