Had it for awhile, but had to get some things done for the wife around the homestead. I was commissioned to carve a woodspirit walking stick for a young boy so I used it to remove the bark. I know not a big deal, but it's a start. LOL!

Very nice cord wrap job! I still can't decide between a BK14 or an Izula II. I love my BK11, but I think I want to try the Izula and see what all the ESEE hype is about.

I was thinking of an Izula myself, but I love the blade on the bk11 and when the 14 came out I jumped on it. Maybe one day I'll try an Izula, but for now I'm very happy.

They both have their points and perks. Izula is little more pointy, but a shorter blade. It balances well, and sit in the hand well.

ESKabar is a little blade heavy and for me thats a plus. I like a drop point blade better, for a stronger tip. Don't get me wrong, my BK14 came with a splinter picking tip, unlike my BK11.

For me, a big deciding facto is $$$. The ESKy is 10 bucks cheaper and that should cover the shipping. So, you can get an ESKabar delivered, for what an Izula' base price is, generally speaking. Can't go wrong with either, but I like the Becker blade better. I have both, but carry my BK14 over my Izula.

Hell, its the holidays, get them both and YOU tell us which one you prefer!!!!:D

Once the Izula scales are on the Eskabar, it become more balanced. The balance point is just in front of the scales. It adds weight to the knife, but I like it.

I'm still debating on getting the scales. They seem to me like they will come up too short for my hands. I know they are cheap, but then so am I. LOL

Its not hype, believe me.. the Izula has the perfect geometry of a beaver....and resembles that statement ;))

I would like to see full length scales, the Izula ones just don't do it for me.

I love the izula handle, but the blade was too small......My BK-14 has only been used to smear peanut butter, Hoping to get some use this weekend processing deer.

Scales or not I love the feel of the eskabar in hand.
