Well, maybe not abused, but definitely put to the test. I took my ESKABAR to the weird country of Kalifornia this week. When I packed my tools, I purposely left out ANY cutting devices, ie. razor knife, tin snips, etc. from my tool box. So far my ESKABAR has filled the role, and this is what she looks like.

YEAH BABY!!!!!!! YEAH!!!! Almost ready to send it jforsbush for a new round of Duracoat. I'm going Lime Greeen with some Orange skulls. Gonna wrap it in oranage para, and build a orange kydex sheath. I may not use the sheath much, as I prefer leather, but this biatch is gonna' turn some heads. Moose

lookin good, mine saw some pretty good use over the last week.amazingly enough, the finish is still flawless on it.one hell of a little knife.it goes everywhere i do.by the way, what all did you use it on,im dying to know :)

So far

Wood:
Alder, Maple, Red Oak, Pressure treated Pine, some weird ass shrub here in Kali, don't know what its called, but its HARD

Synthetics:
Packing tape, cardboard, light gauge metal (tbars for ceiling grid), Accoustical ceiling tiles, light gauge wire (22-16) with a jacket, regular pine 2x4's from lowes, scraped epoxy paint, and bored holes in sheetrock, and oak paneling

The ceiling tiles took the paint off like it wasn't there, I figure it has the abrasive grit of 500-600 grit W/D sand paper. Tbars for the ceiling grid were a "drive it through by smacking it on the pommel" action. Never missed a beat. The rest were just using it cause I had it, but like I said, I left a few tools out of the toolbox, so I would have to use it. Its duller than dammit, and I didn't pack a sharpening kit. I can't fuzz stick with it (tried earlier), but it still cuts wood. Last sharpening, Saturday of last week. Moose

Thanks for the heads up. I made it back into town last night. We're going to Metcalf Bottoms today for some fun. The ESKABAR is doing great, I did have to put a good edge on it last night. Thanks again. Moose

After I got my Beckers (Bk3 for the Truck, Bk2 for everyday, heh and the Bk9 for everything else) I picked up the BK11 (almost instantly) and have been using that for more than I thought I could. I'll be dang nabbed if Moose and all the other fine folks talking about the Bk14 drove me to order it today (I held out....;) ) along with the Izula scales, think I might try and Rit dye them up when I get it. Now for the worst part.....waiting! Arghhh!

I have been trollin to find a Brute so I guess in a BeckerHead craze I couldn't resist on in retail....

Thanks for the reviews!!

You won't be disappoined when it gets there. I liked my BK11 (so did my brother, so he has it) I liked my Izula (so did my moms, so she has it) I LOVE MY ESKABAR!! and no one but me gets it. I was trying to decide on a knife for my 8yr old, and I was going with the Izula, but now, I'm getting her an ESKABAR for Christmas.

I am interested how the scales will work. I wrapped mine and for my hands, its good. Keep us posted. And on that Brute, good luck, and if you find a stockpile somewhere, let us know!!! Moose

I too am looking forward to the scales, they require a little work but in that same vein I want to try the Rit Dye not sure of the color, suggestions? Because I like the black blades I wanted a nice contrast and something that makes it "mine". I will be posting pics.

Knifes in the famlily huh? My pops got me started, he still to this day has a an old Kukri that is sharper than anything I have produced. I have a 3 year old boy (today is his b-day) and a 5 day old girl. I can't wait to get them hooked on this passion for knifes. My boy always wants to help out when I'm doing some chores that require anything sharp/dangerous! :D

Are you gutting the paracord before you wrap? Looks like it but I am a novice in terms of wrapping the blades.

damn, what a tough little blade! so far all ive cut with mine is some wood, rope,my hand(ouch),and a hot wheels box for my 2 year old.i havent had to touch the edge to a stone yet,it still shaves hair.ive got the included black paracord wrap on it right now,but im gonna get the izula scales and put 3 coats of clear polyurethane on them like i did the scales on my bk11.it really gives the micarta an awesome look, plus it makes the swirls in the micarta stand out and seals them.

Glad to hear about the knife getting worked with. I thinned the edge on mine and like it a lot more. Haven't had a chance to use it on more than, wood, tape, and some plastic.I like the handle on it more than the bk11.

Thanks for the endurance testing. :) That little knife is a beast.

My BK11 is MIA, so I'm going to hold off and replace it with the ESKABAR once they come out with the new sheath. I loved my 11 with the micarta scales, but I really like the looks of the Izula handle. We shall see...
