I plan on ordering my bk2 within the week and I was planning on getting one of these little guys also. I was wondering if you guys could maybe post some in hand pics of both, if not it's cool, or could you maybe say which one might be better. Thanks in advance guys!

I've had my 14 for about 2 months now and really like it.

I like the ESEE handle a lot and heard from a few people that on the 11 it tends to be a bit less comfortable...

I own both the BK11 and the BK14. I can say that the BK11 isn't uncomfortable(I bought the micarta scales for it) but the BK14 is a bit more comfortable due to the slightly longer handle. I believe the handle on the Eskabar(BK14) is about 1/4 inch longer than the BK11. I know that doesn't sound like much and it's not but it does make a difference. I think if you think you'll use the bottle opener and don't mind a slightly shorter handle, go with the BK11. If you don't need the bottle opener, go with the BK14. They are both generally the same price and both can be wrapped with paracord to give a nice grip. I know that I carry the BK14 over the BK11 and I don't have huge hands. Not sure if this helps or not but that's my .02 worth. :) I'm sure you'll be happy with either model that you get. Good luck!

And not to start another thread, but could you tell me about micarta. I have no prior experiences with it and I was wondering If they were waterproof, or if I got blood on them from hunting would they be ok?

I had no problem with the BK11 handle, but I preferred the Eskabar when I got it.

The BK11 is better with the micarta grips.

Thanks for the photos guys, your knives look great. Ultimately I think I'm gonna go with the Eskabar tp pair with the Bk 2.

Eskabar is a great knife. Best of both worlds between the Necker and the Izula. There are quite a few more handle slab options available for the 14 as well, many of the Izula scales will fit, with slight modification (sanding/minor cutting). Also wrapping the Eskabar is very fun too. Just make sure you're careful and tape the blade.

Side note: Real men don't use tape measures like that one...just sayin. ;)

I do but mines yellow, am I gonna lose my man card?

Someone asked a few posts back about Micarta, No blood won't hurt it, It will discolor it and there are those who like the dis coloration caused by blood. It's sealed by the resins in it so the patina it gets doesn't go very deep.

No pics, as my camera was stolen recently, but i have big hands & I love my EsKabar! Soooo much! The Necker I had, I ended up giving to my ex, as it fit her tiny hands ok, but was just too small for my mitts. Just my 2 cents, they are both great knives!

BS (Before Sh@rp), it was the BK-11 with scales.

AS (After Sh@rp), it's the BK-14. Always.

Well this says it all he gave the Necker to his ex!!!!! ;) j/k I have never held the Necker but I carry my Eskabar everyday.

Would anyone here have a comparison photo of the Eskabar and the Izula 2? I know I'm kinda asking a lot but thanks in advance if you do!
