Looking for a little feedback on comparing the two? I do a ton of hiking/camping. If anyone has both, which do you prefer. I use my izzzy and 4 but looking into the eskabar....... thanx

I just got my Eskabar today. I have 2 izulas.

I am less than thrilled about the sheath on the Eskabar. But I love the knife!

The size great, I keep taking the knife out of the sheat to check it out, and really like it everytime. It's about a 1/2 inch longer than the Izula, and the blade is a little taller. I pick up the Izula again and love it too! I like the small feel of the blade when my thumb is on the spine. But then the Eskabar feels perfect too. Bottom line: I've had mine for about 6 hrs and have only sliced paper and love it. The price is right, buy one for every one on your Christmas list next year! I have seen comparison pics around here somewhere.

You won't regret buying one, if you do, send me a message and I'll take it.

The EsKabar has a slightly longer and thicker blade. It will also fit into the Kabar TDI Belt Clips that you can buy and also possibly the ankle holster. I am going to try to fit mine into the ankle holster......it looks like it will fit when my Becker Necker didn't! That way, I can have ankle, boot, belt, pocket, jacket pocket, inside bag and outside bag knives at the same time!

Well I sold my Izula when the eskabar hit the shelf....Longer Blade FTW

I like the eskabar blade shape a lot.
enough that it mostly replaced my izula for pocket carry. (the nasty rattle in the sheath was fixed by shoving a tiny scrap of leather into the sheath)
Then I got the Izula 2 -- the extra 1/2" of handle makes all the difference in the world!
for woodsbumming, the izzy 2 is close to perfect, especially if you have something else for big tasks, like a folding saw, hatchet, or ESEE 6.

I've got both blades and up until a while back they both seemed PERFECT. Two stout, razor sharp blades. UNTIL, I got my Izula 2. That little bugger feels 10 times better in hand, and I can put much more power in my cuts with the Izula 2. Since then the regular Izula / Eskabar handle feels insufficient.

The sheath rattle for me is a non-issue, but I know some people don't like it.
I dropped a round wooden toothpick into the sheath and no rattle, and if you don't want it there just dump it back out.
