ESPADA Questions

Hey guys as you remember i started a thread about the espada and i decided to get it after all, i got the medium version and I LOVE it! My only Question is when opening the knife about a quarter of the way open it isnt smooth but once you get about half way to opening it, it goes really smooth. Will this just get better over time or should i take it apart? Any advise would be great.

You could always field strip it and polish the crap out of all metal/metal contact areas.
 
Do you mean that it resists opening more at first? That's just a safety feature of the lockback. It will smooth up over time, but you can polish the tang or add lubricant if you want.
 
Thats what i was thinking about doing.. Ive never taken a knife apart, how hard is it to take apart and put together.

Not hard at all.
 
Charlie Mike did you take it apart for the same reason that im talking about or just to do it?
 
I took it apart to cut an "island" into or out of the spacer so I could affix a lanyard.
 
Give it a couple months and see if it breaks in.
 
Yes it is and it worked well. I take a lot less material off the blade nowadays.
