Well,
I've got more questions for all of you out there. Anybody know anything about the Spanish company Esparcia. Are they any good.Do their products stand up to hard use. Also, does anyone know what 18/8 steel is?
Thanks
Lagarto

Esparcia is one of several Spanish cutlery firms which produce reasonably priced knives. If you're in the U.S. check out www.cutlerytogo.com

They have a nice selection of Spanish cultery, including Esparcia.
Being born in Spain myself, I feel dissapointed at the decline of quality on Spanish knives today. The same has happened to German firms like Puma. I still like Aitor's military fixed blades as well as Andújar's traditional navajas, but the overall quality of today's Spanish knives is no where near that of current U.S. and Japanese made specialty cutlery.

Thanks for the data, actually my interest in Esparcia was sparked by their knives which I saw at the site you mentioned. I'm also probably going to buy an Aitor through them once they have the JKII in stock again. Donde Nacio? He viajado en espana un poco, pero solo tuve unas doce dias alla. Tengo que regresar un dia. Lo siento pero no se como hacer los tildes con un PC.

Thanks again for the info

Let's see if this works: España

Yes! To get the tilde over the n, use this: &_n_tilde_; (without the underlines) that is, ampersand n tilde semicolon, all run together, no spaces.

The HTML codes for accented characters start with an ampersand and end with a semicolon. Entering "& a uml ;" without the spaces will display as a-umlaut. You can substitute other letters for a and other accent codes: grave acute circ(umflex) ring cedil(la) slash. Not all these work with all letters.

No problem Lagarto. If you're looking for a good Spanish fixed blade field knife, check out Aitor's Cuchillo de Monte, which is supplied to the Spanish Army.

Curiously, Cuchillería JJ has their own version as well:
