I would like to introduce you to a knife that I finished recently,
Damascus steel blade in twisted pattern
Damascus steel guard in Turkish pattern
horn handle of red deer
237 mm total length

the materials of this piece were chosen very carefully, especially the horn deer ..
I liked the end result!

looks good, I would bring the bottom of the ricasso above the blade edge or file in a small hole to facilitate sharpening the blade.

What I appreciated beyond the great materials was the fact that there is no such hole and that the ricasso and blade are the same orientation. I really do not like a gap/thorn sticking out of my blades, and have not had issues sharpening a knife such as is pictured. Just shows how much diversity is in the knife world.

dear Dave,
the hole in my opinion, is optional ... since not so much influence on the regrinding of the knife .. course is easier with the hole.
