I just noticed one of these in the sale area and was wondering how I missed these, and didn't see much in the lines of threads here about it other than other sales. If someone can find a previous discussion about them please add the link here and I'll check it.

Looks like a nice little knife. How do they compare in size to let's say one of the GEC pembertons?

Maybe this will help, Randy. I think the search results reported that this thread has more than 200 posts:

Esquire is 2 7/8" closed, Pemberton is 2 3/4". But Esquire is a pen knife, and if it's single-spring, I'd guess it is thinner (narrower from cover to cover) than a Pemberton 2-blade jack. (But I've never actually had either in hand - I'm just spewing out data.)

It’s a pretty dainty knife. Like GT guessed, much thinner than the Pemberton. Main blade is smaller, too.

Thanks for providing the link, neat little knife. Would love to find one with the ivory handle, they really are a gorgeous knife.

I am a fan generally of pen knife patterns, but never bonded with the esquire. I found the blades to be difficult to sharpen because of their size and thick grinds (Maybe just my example?) and ended up selling mine because it wasn’t going to replace my peanut or other small GEC knives (18 & 22) in my watch pocket rotation.

Interesting, I’ve been keepin my eyes open for one in bocote but your comment about thick grinds has me reconsidering that. I just assumed it had nice thin blades and grinds.

This is from the other thread. Man, I'm not sure how I missed these but they're pretty cool little knives. I'm also digging the coin edge bolsters and liners. This one looks classy.

Same: I love pen knives but found the blades on the 09 unusually difficult to sharpen, especially for 1095.

However, I'll be keeping my example forever because it was gift.
