For my purposes which would be better. I have pretty much quit hunting although it could be used for that purpose occassionally. It would mostly be a camp hiking knife or SHTF (which is I know very remote). Are the Holders most just a collectibble an not a user? I'm sure they are extemely well made. No batoning. My personal belief is a knife is not a hatchet, no offensto anyone just my belief. All opinions appreciated as I will have to pull the trigger quickly on the D'holder if I want it at good price.

This one is going to General.

D'Holder is a high end knife, good steel, beautiful "handles" , great steel and handmade. Price is a deterrent. I own 3 of his blades, 8" bowie, "My Knife" and a small drop point slab handle. I stopped carrying the small one, just too expensive to abuse now. If you can afford one get it!!

You could pick a compromise between those 2 brands and select something from Bark River or Blackjack.

Buy the D'Holder, especially if you can get it at a good price. You can always buy a 6 later.
