Hey Guys,
I have a 1986 Buck 121 w/sheath and a 426 Bucklite from the BIL's estate that I need to price for sale in the exchange. Checked ebay and a few other places but no real info so I was hoping you all could help me establish an all around fair initial price. The knives are both in pristine condition with the 426 [deep maroon color] being NIB. No box for the 121 and the sheath has suffered a ding or two, but the knife is just... sweet!

So... can you guys help a little?

Thanks,
Steve

426-
$56.00 - $75.00 NIB on online auctions. The maroon color may change that value for better or worse, I am not sure.

121-
$20.00- $40.00 in that condition without box.

I am no expert, but I just looked at ended listings on that auction site. LOTS of 121's ended in that ballpark. You have to click on advanced search on that site, then search completed listings, that will give you a ballpark on there anyway. Collectors and users may pay more or less on here, depending on who is looking for what!

Good luck, I hope I helped!

Welcome to the Buck forum!!!!!!!!

around the upper end of these two ranges I could lower the price if need be and yet still feel comfortable that I wasn't giving the farm away either?

Thanks for the input and advanced search info as well, Postfallsidaho.

I would think so, but again, I am not an expert ;)
Maybe there was only one maroon 426 made :D

I just looked for ended listings and forwarded the info! I would say those are good places to start...

Did you ever consider keeping them? They were the BIL's!

Good luck either way!

I was an avid Case collector about 10 years ago, but the economic conditions and the fact we are trying to squish the remains of 4 houses [BIL, MIL, FIL, & ours , the first three being estates over a 10 year period] into one, well... You see I finally convinced the rib to get rid of a whole bunch of her JUNK by relinquishing some of MY treasures [the non-hid ones that is] and it makes for a good arrangement. What she don't know won't hurt me.

These were the only two Bucks out of around 65 pieces and the 121 was/is actually mine, but I have other work/utility knives that I actually use. Just didn't want to mess this one up, it being so pretty and all. So I decided to let someone else appreciate it. 60 odd pieces to go: That's my story and stickin' to it.

i have bought bucklites for as little as $16 on ebay MIB... I collect Bucklite knives... If your 426 MIB is a drop point blade... That could get you about $50-$75... It's all about who want's it... A clip Blade could bring less... Just my 2 cent... ITE ...

Vang, The 426 WITH the drop point blade should not have a year date stamp just 3 lines . It was mfg. in 1985 when they were first offered with 425M steel . DM
