My buddy who knows I am a knife nut, found this at an estate sale. I am a tad bit envious, but happy for him none the less. This could make him a knife nut who nows. This is how it starts. This looks like a pretty good score. It looks like there is a burn mark on the back side scale. He is a good friend, we go back about 25 yrs. or more. Anyways, thought you guys would like to see this, and fantasize about finding this with other valuable junk for $10. I have only seen new swaybacks, not older ones, so I would be excited to find this myself. Enjoy

NY Knife Co.
Walden is on the tang stamp. These are the photos he emailed me.

Charlie,

I will email my buddy and find out. I told him it was a pretty cool find. I will get a fully open length, and a fully closed length.

Pretty full blades with swedges and long pulls . . . YEAH BABY!! The bone hasn't even shrunk much.

Great find!

Is that a cigarrete burn on the bone? Oh the stories that grand old knife could tell...

Thats a Carpenter Jack & freakin',you don't see alotta those around!!!

That's interesting. It's a remarkable knife, I actually like the burn mark maybe it was caused by an old fashioned blow-lamp:D

What a great find. I've been going to every antique store and pawn shop I can get to and I haven't found anything lately. I would probably have fainted if I had found that one.

Hi there Chris,
That looks a real good condition knife...not too much loss on the blades?
Would be great to see more photos on this beaut....did I read that right?....$10!!!!
Good grief:eek:

I think I'll go garage sale-ing this weekend. That is a super duper deal and find. Thanks for sharing.

Great Find!!!

A lot of the older knife companies marketed that exact style knife as a Carpenter's knife - with the long spear and long sheepfoot in a swayback frame.
