Had some great fortune at the first one I went to this year! Soddy from the 80’s, 3 Vic’s, and is this waynorth first sfo with the reverse C’s????

Nice finds, never been to an estate sale myself, but many flea markets and yard sales.

They are hit or miss just like yard sales. The last one I went to the knives were so high I didn’t buy any at 50% off day. Got all these for fifteen bucks.

That 1949 and arrow stamp might make that a military "issue" for the cooks!!

Nice. Got three Vics for 4$ at a yard sale last summer myself. Missing the toothpicks and tweezers, but otherwise in good shape. Given two away to good homes.
That carbon steel kitchen knife is freaking awesome. I can't find them much at all anymore.

The broad arrow, as Jack calls it, does mean military issue.
I think it's a delightful survival of the victory rune the Saxons used to put on their blades.

I haven't been to an estate sale in a long time. I like the ones out in the country with a field to park in. Those lake houses on miserable narrow lanes I can do without.
You have to enjoy the ride, because there's no telling what will or won't be there. But even if you don't see anything you like in the ad, there might be something wonderful that they didn't think was worth taking a picture of.

There's a Schrade trapper from the same farmhouse, but it isn't where I'm looking for it.

Nice finds. I've never been to an estate sale. I do go to a lot of yardsales though. I should start looking for estate sales though.
