NFS, Picked these up recently from an estate sale, Don't know if the pictures will come thru, The guy was strait up about these are mostly being Chinese knock-offs but with the possibility of 1 or 2 being WW2
era
He wasn't sure and I'm pretty much in the same boat, He did say the Chinese blades were well made and these do have some value to a beginner, Again NFS,Thanks

So to me they look pretty cool, and if you bought them because you like them then it's all good. If you bought them because you think they are valuable as authentic Japanese swords, could be but probably not. Folks here will likely need more detailed photos to make a guess, if that's what you're looking for.

Oh no, Guy was strait up about he was certain nothing here was over 100 years old, 2 however he thinks were made by the Japanese government at the time for it's troops.
I dropped these off to a friend that owns a local G-shop, He is interested in the possibility of ww2 era things?
Tuesday I will probably run over and get more pictures, Took me a fair bit to figure out how to upload Picts on here and everything.

Sorry, man, but these don't look like what they were sold to you as.

They all appear to be Chinese fakes of Japanese ww2 swords that have flooded the market for decades.

Well that's okay,Only have 6 bones in the lot of 9, Even a well made copy is worth something?
Look's like the grandson will be getting a few wall-hangers for his B-day!

The one with two drilled holes might be legit. I actually just found that out on this forum, apparently traditionally made swords can often have two or even more tang holes. I'd have the three in the middle checked out, just in case. The rest are all likely repros, although the one with a yellow handle wrap might be actual decent steel and suitable (maybe) for backyard cutting. I'm basing that on the hamon (temper line), although it's hard to tell if that's fake from the pics.

Thanks, Tomorrow when the suns up I'll shoot for better pictures.

What happened to all the photos?
Sorry, Got tied up in a 20 ft tall lemon tree with 4 in.stickers, It's trying to drain my blood, Been hacking at it for 3 days depending on the weather.
No telling how much DNA this beast has claimed over the years and the lemons are huge and bitter nasty, Tequila and salt wouldn't help these lemons out at all.

The image hosting site whipped clean all of my uploads. Think the problem started there out in sunny Komifornia

I use imgur.com to host photos. It's been reliable, and you can imbed the photos right into the forum post.
