Read a thread a while back about choppers, etc. Someone mentioned that they like Estwing camp axes for chopping. Logical statement. Researched knifecenter.com and they show the weight of the 26" Large model to be 26 lbs, and the smaller version-18" length to weigh 58 lbs. Granted they have solid steel ax-head and staff but the smaller version weighing in at 58 lbs. can't be right. Also the large camp ax's weight seems heavy to me. Are these errors? Haven't handled an ax in a while, but I don't think they were that heavy. Anyone with experience with these that can clarify?

Yeah, those are errors! I'm not sure what the actual weights are, but I'm real sure it's not the weights you've given. I've handled and owned the smaller version.

Yeah, those weights are out of nowhere. I have all three sizes of Estwing axes/hatchet. The middle sized camp axe is my favorite and it weighs about a pound and a half or so.
